Several readers wanted to know what they could do after we wrote about the cops breaking up the late-night fun at the Mutual Musicians Foundation last fall.
Well, here’s your chance.
A bill that would allow the foundation to stay open until 6 a.m. will get a hearing in the Missouri House next Tuesday. Here’s the text of an e-mail we received from Mike Talboy, one of the bill’s sponsors:

I have been able to schedule our bill for a hearing in the Local Government Committee on Tuesday, April 17th at 8:00am. I talked to Talboy around 10 this morning. He said the hearing went well and that about 50 people showed up to testify in favor. None testified against. He says he's feeling much more hopeful now than when he proposed the bill: "The response has been overwhelming." Among others, Mayor Funkhouser sent a letter of support.
On May 18, we'll find out whether it passes and we get to drink beer and jam out at the Foundation until dawn. Fingers crossed.
