Stacy Hedger, Miss Douglas!

Posted by Eric Barton on Wed, Oct 17, 2007 at 9:58 AM

According to this anonymous YouTube poster, this video is a Kansas City classic. Stacy Hedger, Miss Douglas, uses her trumpet to entertain -- and to ward off storm troopers -- for the talent portion of an unnamed beauty contest.

Unfortunately, there's little on this tape to help identify where the talented Ms. Hedger lived. There are towns and counties named Douglas in Missouri, Kansas and Nebraska. Chances are she uses a married name by now (what a catch!), and there's no Stacy Hedger listed in the three-state area. There's also no mention of a Stacy Hedger on LexisNexis, the online catalogue of all newspaper stories for roughly the last decade.

So Stacy, you trumpet-as-a-light-saber talent, care to reveal yourself? -- Eric Barton

Stacy, having written songs for 200 hundred artists or so including Kiss, the truth is, yes, it sucked but we all sucked at one time or another. Hopefully you're on to dealing with other, much more important issues like being a mom.

One more comment from me; whoever was saying stuff about the suicide watch needs to lighten up. This was the 80's, I was in grade school at the time but I remember that stuff like this wasn't so far fetched back then, I probably would have thought it was cool, lol!!!! That's what makes it so funny to me now is how corny it is, but back then it wouldn't have been so cheesy.
THANK YOU STACY!!

Stacy, seriously, thank you SO much for being such a good sport about this. I know it was not meant to be a joke but I saved the video and whenever I am feeling down, I watch it and laugh every time. It has really brightened a lot of my days. I hope you don't take that as an insult. I have so many moments from my past when I thought I was being cool (entering myself into the local parade for example in junior high), thankfully they weren't recorded, but if they had been I don't know I'd be as good of a sport that you have been. So really, thank you!!!

I really think the info on Ms. Douglas is wrong. This was a live telelvised performance from the Ms. Texas pageant although the year I am not sure of ... I think late 80s early 90s.

Wow, this is truely the worst thing I have ever seen. If this girl is ever caught, she should be put on suicide watch immediately. No-one sane in this world would not try to kill themselves after a performance like that.

Stacy, you're an inspiration.

After seeing the video of your performance, I have encouraged my 18 year old and my 22 year old to take up trumpet and dance lessons.

Wherever you are now, thank you for making my day!

:)
