MLK Did Come Back

“Black Entertainment Television is the worst thing I’ve ever seen in my life…And now, I’d like to talk about Soul Plane…”

Jason, 96.5 The Buzz’s noon radio jock, was just wondering on-air about why no one’s ever written a book or made a movie re-envisioning history as though Martin Luther King Jr. had lived, surviving the assassination attempt.

Actually, Jason, someone did: Aaron McGruder, creator of the comics strip and Cartoon Network series The Boondocks. In the episode, “Return of the King,” Dr. King awakens from a coma to find himself in today’s world. The funniest part? When he discovers the McRib and says, “Oh, snap.”

Here’s an excerpt from the episode in which MLK addresses a church full of people.

Maybe next time you can warn us to turn the volume down so that people in the cubicle next to us won't hear the "N" word so much? Thanks.
