Ralph Roades doesn’t know why more Kansas City women didn’t want a free boob job.
Roades raffled off a free breast-augmentation surgery January 13 as part of the Wide Open magazine publisher’s Kansas City bike show. St. Louis-based Fantastic Plastic Surgery agreed to do the work, and Roades called the odds of winning the $6,000 surgery better than going to a casino.
He was right. When the time came, only 140 women signed up.
“I don’t understand how only 140 would get in on it,” Roades says. More than 500 registered for a similar raffle he held elsewhere, he says. “It surprised me.”
Roades had also planned for the winner to do before-and-after photos for the magazine, but now that probably won’t happen.
“This person is kind of a socialite and doesn’t really know if she wants to do that. She didn’t want her name out either, so you know, it’s a funny deal. But she wanted them,” Roades says.
Fantastic Plastics general manager Ken Seger confirmed the winner has scheduled a full consultation in the next month. Seger had been on hand at the rally to interview potential winners. “You had to be a suitable candidate for the augmentation, so no history of breast cancer, no previous implants, no breast diseases,” Seger said. “And there were a lot of people that asked, ‘If I win can I trade this for a tummy tuck?’ And we couldn’t do that.”
Roades hopes for better luck at his upcoming St. Louis rally.
“Advertising is the hardest. So many people try but not everyone figures out the magic formula,” he says.

Do another raffle, I'm from Cali but if I win a free bob job I will fly anywhere, toucan take before & after photos, I would do all that was needed. Lucky girls!
Give me a free boob job. I'll let you take photos for your magazine. I'm 24, 115 lbs and would love to upgrade my breast size to complement my other features. I'm smart as hell (nearly a 4.0 on my masters so far..) and have an athletic/slender build...yet I've always been considered 'one of the guys' since I don't flaunt my body. I'm paying for college myself so funding is out of the question...please consider my plea for a fresh start. I live near KC!
Heya, just curious as to if you've any more info so I can find out a lttle bit more? Thanks.
fyi there IS a site out there where you can "earn" a free boob job ...

Well I wish I would of know about this cause I have been wanting a boob job for about 7-8 years now. Someone needs to figure out how to get it out there better. Of course though I live 30-45 min from Kansas City cause I live in St.Joseph. I would love to know when there's gonna be another one. I am on myfreeimplants.com now and still no donation yet but I just started this site too.

For the record, breast AUGMENTATION was what the raffle was for & the reason "only 140 women signed up" is because the other HUNDREDS of entrants were turned away as ineligible, including myself. All of the women turned away after endless paperwork & a "screening" by their Dr. either didn't need implants :) or needed a LIFT & both were not eligible for the actual drawing (in addition to prior implants & health reasons).
Are you kidding me? I know at least 25 women who would want a free boob job. Where was it advertised and for how long.
Didn't the Pitch advertise the giveaway? Is this how you treat all your advertisers, or just the ones who realize that your publication did no good? I think the idea is great and I know a million girls who would do anything for a free breast augmentation. In my opinion, the poor choice was not what is being given away, but WHO they chose to advertise with.
