Former NFL quarterback and dog-fighting son of a bitch Michael Vick may be serving his prison sentence in the metro area, but has anybody really welcomed him to town? Not one car dealership has featured him in a commercial. Not one downtown loft has boasted that he has bought property there. And not one bar has claimed to be his favorite.
Sure, you might argue that his incarceration in Leavenworth on a 23-month sentence would prevent such promotion. But the T-Bones would like to prove otherwise.
Kansas City T-Bones spokesman Tommy Thrall tells The Pitch that the independent baseball team will hold a Michael Vick "Welcome to the Neighborhood" Night on May 28. The home team will don special black-and-white jerseys, and the visiting Gary South Shore RailCats will wear orange-jail-jumpsuit-inspired uniforms. The team will auction copies of the jerseys to benefit local animal shelters. Bring a photo of your pooch, and you can get two-for-one bleacher or berm tickets.
Thrall says the point is to "raise awareness about animal abuse." Six or seven adoption groups will be on hand with animals in need of homes. "We want to use this to do something positive," Thrall says.
Vick, you can assume, won't be attending.

Get over this already. Michael is human and makes mistakes. Other professionals are doing dumb shit too, but not getting caught. He's served the maximum time allowed by the GOVERNMENT, so who the hell are we to judge him. Get over yourselves and give the man a chance!!!!!

Michael Vick will be okay. I find myself praying for those who are attempting to degrade him. Many do not believe in God. If they believed in God they would not react to Michael as they have.
I continue to remember Jesus's interaction with those who wanted to stone a woman who had been caught engaging in a sin. After writing on the ground, Jesus looked up and merely said, "let he who is without sin cast the first stone." They all slipped away. How may of those who critize Vick would be able to cast that first stone. How many are without sin?
Those who are unforgiving will not be forgiven Those who have shown no mercy will receive no mercy. Check your bible. I suggest that you leave Vick's mother out of this. When you attempt to denegrade his mother you are steping on dangerous ground. God sees it all. Need I say more. You can behind a blog but you can't hide from God. God knows who you are.
