Get this. Yesterday, after touring the Ford plant in Claycomo, Sen. Kit Bond said, “Our energy future is right here in America. We shouldn’t have to depend on the Middle East.” Was he talking about the same thing everyone else is talking about these days -- clean alternatives to oil? Hell no! The doddering senator, who’s been holding onto his seat since 1986 by fattening Missouri with endless pork – so much so that even the state’s Democrats suck at his teats – says that not only should we drill for oil in the Artic Circle, we should plunder the Rocky Mountains too.
Bond’s up for re-election in 2010. If state Dems can’t come up with a candidate to knock off this old greaser, then Missouri deserves to stay stuck in the 20th Century.
