On a miserably hot Sunday, I spotted Rosalind Armstrong on the Plaza. She and her husband, Rahn, were heading into Urban Outfitters when I accosted her for a quick Clothes Whores interview. I thought Rosalind looked absolutely beautiful – she’s tall and stylish, and she looked elegant in her bold black-and-white patterned dress.
She bought her dress at Halls. I love the collar, which stands up a little bit and provides a nice frame for her neck and face. It seems like she carefully thought out her accessories, too – on her right hand and wrist, she wore a white, nearly-translucent bangle and a ring with a round white stone. On her left arm, she went with black and silver jewelry. Her cool silver bag is a nice contrast to all the black-and-white, too.
Rosalind’s shoes rocked, too – they’re black and white high-heeled sandals that really highlighted her great pedicure. It’s a little hard to tell in the picture, but her big toes are bright red and have a white feathery pattern painted on. The rest of her toes have red tips, in kind of a reverse French manicure.
The 48-year-old Rosalind is a barber stylist at VIP Cuts, which is in south KC on James A. Reed Road. She said she didn’t mind the steamy weather. “It’s a nice sunny day. A hot summer day. It’s just gorgeous,” she said. Indeed, she looked cool while I sweated it out while standing next to her. I asked her style inspiration. “Look good to feel good. And my husband,” she said. Rahn, who had moved a couple of feet away to stand under a sidewalk tree, gave her a thumbs-up.
