Phelps Clan Gets Competitor in Christian Hate

Topeka's fag-hating Westboro Baptist Church has crosstown competition. The Eastboro Baptist Church says

fred_with_giant_sign.jpg
"God hates everyone except us." Most of all, Eastboro says, "there is no greater Hatred than his Hatred of the Westboro Baptist Church!"

Why? Because Westboro's single focus on hating "fags" doesn't encompass God's hatred for everything else in the universe. "Thus, God hates the Westboro Baptists above all things," Eastboro's Web site reads, "because, whilst charading [sic] around as the true followers of God’s Hatred, they do not hate enough!"

Eastboro's satirical Web site mirrors Westboro's. Eastboro is led by the Rev. Ben Bigots, who supposedly has a shared history with Westboro Rev. Fred Phelps. Bigots and Phelps were supposedly raped in the same Scout troop ("This laid the foundation for what would later become their rampant homophobia," Eastboro's Web site says). The site also claims they went to the same high school and shared a "profound religious experience" when a "gay lion" pissed on them at the Meridian Zoo. Oh, and Bigots promotes inbreeding among his children to protect them from "fag genes."

"It is also important to note that, although Ben Bigots does have some striking similarities to Fred Phelps, it is nothing more than coincidence, and they were never anything more than acquaintances," Eastboro's Web site says. "Although some sinners at Meridian High have spread some nasty rumors saying other wise, they have no basis aside from something they thought they saw behind the school that was actually a big misunderstanding and wasn’t at all what it looked like."

Also check out this handy guide to enablers, their picketing schedule and Eastboro's purpose.

This Westboro Baptist Church says they hate the Gay-Community.
But, they also hate African Americans, Dr. & Mrs. King, Canada, Sweden, the
Fire Department of N.Y., victims of 911, other Christian churches, the pope,
Judaism, America, our American troops and the list goes on and on. Many of the
groups they despise are specifically named on their hate propaganda, picket
signs and their many websites. They not only hate, but wish death on all whom
they abhor.

This so-called “church” spreads its hate through picketing in
our streets, provoking attacks, with abusive language and flag desecration,
attempting to create a confrontation. This is not about protesting, this is
about a life of hate. They are in it for the money and the press.  They are not a "church." They go
after any thing that can get them in the news. This group will protest anything
to get its face on TV or in the news. This group is lost in the darkness of
hate, and will put there children in danger to shield themselves.

These people protest at the funerals of our troops. Do we have a
real need to protest at any funeral? Is that a real freedom?

The city of Topeka, the state of Kansas and the U.S. at large,
its citizens and their churches, schools and events are all held hostage by
this "hate group."-always at the tax payer's expense.

Wait. I always thought Westboro was some kind of satirical put-on. Now i don't know what to believe.

Methinks the "charading around" may actually have been a clever attempt at a pun rather than an unintentional error.

Anyway, a friend recently asked me an excellent question: Who is the democrat's Fred Phelps?

The Democrats are so lucky not to have an overt agnostic left faction. Then again, I suppose they would need to have some semblance of organization for a part thereof to dissent.

Anyway, if you want the religious right, we would be happy to be rid of them.
