Stealing Time: Fred Phelps thinks Santa Claus molests children

Fred Phelps is spreading joy to all the boys and girls of Washington state with a special holiday message: "Santa Claus will take you to hell." Phelps, pastor of Topeka's least popular church, wants his Christmas cheer included in Washington's state capitol next to a nativity scene and an atheist sign. But Phelps' message wouldn't be complete unless he slandered Santa Claus as a child molester and blames the deaths of American soldiers on the jolly old elf. Westboro's members aren't the only locals making us proud in the Pacific Northwest. The KCFreeThinkers want a Flying Spaghetti Monster display in the capitol, too. Just great. Can't wait for Bill O's update on the "War on Christmas."

Kansas Jackass calls Amanda Adkins, whose name is being floated as a replacement for Kansas Republican Party Chairman Kris Kobach, a "mindless minion of Sam Brownback."

Meesha V. snaps some scary photos of a car flipped over on southbound Interstate 35 and points out the driver "actually made it home the night before, when it actually was slick." Yesterday, not so slick.

Rany on the Royals agrees with Royals general manager Dayton Moore that Moore isn't an idiot. Something about not trading Zack Greinke. Glad to hear the Royals aren't a farm club for the Braves. -- Justin Kendall
