Maybe Bill Walker isn't a dick after all. Maybe the Boston Celtics rookie forward and former Kansas State Wildcat just gets a bad rap. Walker is at the center of a NBA Developmental League controversy after he was wrongly accused of a foul he didn't commit in a late December game. Did his dickish reputation finally catch up to him? Or was the score keeper out to get him?
Refs whistled Walker for a foul with 25.2 seconds left in a tied game between Utah and Colorado. But the foul should only have been Walker's fifth; a foul against Walker's teammate and former Kansas Jayhawk
J.R. Giddens was mistakenly given to Walker earlier in the game. Utah ended up losing the game.
But today, the D-League approved Utah's challenge and has ordered the teams to replay the final 25.2 seconds of the game. The redo will happen April 10. Walker and Giddens may not be there. They've since been called up to the big leagues. -- Justin Kendall
