Fox 4's Shawn Edwards -- considered a "quote whore" by other critics -- won't be quoted on posters for Gran Torino. Last week, Edwards gave Clint Eastwood's latest film zero out of five popcorn bags.
"I hated every second of his latest movie," Edwards said during his January 9 review. (Gran Torino topped the opening weekend box office.) Edwards added that he was "highly insulted" and called the film "racist." "And I don't really say that lightly," Edwards added self-consciously.
Unhappy Eastwood-loving viewers of Fox 4 apparently deluged the station with angry calls. It must have been bad. Edwards ended the January 16 edition of "The Screening Room" with an apology to upset Eastwood fans. But Edwards also explained that his job as a critic is "to create a little controversy."
OK, but I wanna know: Where's my apology for Edwards' review of White Chicks?

Since THE PITCH doesn't use its own critics anymore who's left to critique locally in the media besides Robert Butler these days?
Ahhh, Shawn Edwards, you are the black Paris Hilton. It is so cute how you and Paris think your sell-out asses really matter to anyone in any context other than those watching you be stupid on TV. At least Paris doesnt apologize when folks come at her (or on her)you should have followed suit.
Another clown doesn't get it.
Go watch Dark Night again.
Edwards is as much of an embarrassment to Kansas City as the mayor. The "film critic" title should require some sort of certification. There's no way Edwards or his cohort would even come close to qualifying for that certification.
He's an idiot.
