Chiefs Hall of Famer, former Iowa Hawkeye broadcaster and boobie inspector Ed Podolak announced today that he's seeking "professional treatment." Podolak made the announcement in a statement released through the University of Iowa.
"After considerable deliberation with my family and close friends,
I've decided to seek professional treatment," Podolak said in the statement. "Over the last few months
the people closest to me in life have convinced me that treatment is in
my best interest."
Podolak added: "My hope is that treatment will make me a better husband and father and a better person to my friends."
Iowa Athletic Director Gary Barta even cracked the door for a possible return to the broadcast booth.
"He did not officially indicate he will be coming out of retirement, but
in light of this recent development, I've spoken with Learfield and we
have put the search for his replacement on hold," Barta said in a statement.

As an avid cyclone fan, I am sad to see a state icon such as Ed Podolak get busted down for taking pictures with hot women. So he likes a little drink from time to time. Hey, don't we all??
Here's how the convo between Gary Barta and Ed went:
Barta: Ed. Bro. Man. You didn't see the camera?
Ed: She said she was cool. F***in spacebook or whatever that's called.
Barta: Hey man, you don't have to explain it to me. I'm only talking to you because the dean has my balls in a vice. His wife saw those pictures and wants to know what he's going to do about it. I swear, if she didn't catch him gettin that bj last year this would've just been a blip.
Ed: So what's it gonna be? Not giving up the sauce?
Barta: I'm afraid we gotta go with the big guns here. Just lay off for a while and go to a few meetings. Just feel lucky they didn't make you audit the Late Feminism and the Workplace. You pretty much gotta leave your balls in a little jar by the door.
