SUV crashes and burns on Interstate 670

Nasty accident last night. A driver crashed a SUV through a concrete barricade near Locust Street and landed on Interstate 670.

My morbid curiosity took over, and I went to look at the scene just before lunch.

The police tried to pull over the driver on Truman Road but the SUV

sped off. News reports say the driver lost control and busted through the bridge's retaining wall.

The driver was killed after

being ejected from the SUV, which caught fire. This picture came from KCTV-5 last night.

KCTV-5 says the SUV dropped 100 feet to the interstate  and crossed the eastbound lanes and landed in the westbound lanes.

KMBC-TV reports that a

woman was trapped inside the vehicle. A truck driver used a fire

extinguisher to douse the fire before pulling her from the vehicle.
