Kansas City Star TV columnist Aaron Barnhart isn't hiding his fear of another round of layoffs. He's blogging about it on his TV Barn site.

Earlier today, Barnhart shared his fear in this post about layoffs at Time Warner Cable.

Having gone through three layoffs cycles in six months -- and who knows, maybe another one after tomorrow's McClatchy conference call with investors -- I can tell you this ain't fun.
Barnhart hasn't been a quiet soldier. After the cuts in June, he started a tribute site to his former colleagues.

Aaron, I hope things go well tomorrow.

Right now, McClatchy's stock is at $.67, down a couple pennies.

Yeah yeahprint media is getting their comeuppance, big deal. Good riddancethere are only so many synonyms for worship that can be applied to Obama and when they are all used, there is nothing left for them to print anyway.

We've got the same company and same situtation in Wichita. Half of the Wichita Eagle is reprints of KC Star articles. They cut one whole section of the paper, fired several columnists and the editorial cartoonist, quit running the daily TV listings, and raised the subscription price. There's little reason left for me to keep paying them $17 a month for reprints and wire stories.

The way to boost that stock price is to offer less and less of whta made the paper worth reading in the first place. Stupid goddamn bosses!!!
