Claire "Mad Dog" McCaskill's media tour continued on Sunday morning's Meet The Press. The fighting senator from Missouri defended the economic stimulus package and President Obama's nomination of Tom Daschle.
On economic stimulus, McCaskill argued that the American people are
sick of partisan bickering. "You know, the building is on fire, and
what we typically do in
Washington is argue what color of fire truck do we send to the scene.
They do not want us arguing about the color of the fire truck. They
want something bold, they want something swift."
McCaskill also marveled at Obama admitting that he was wrong.
"And I think one of the things that's refreshing, and one of the
reasons President Obama is, is going to win the hearts of the American
people continually is that he looked in the camera and said he screwed
up. That doesn't happen very often. ... This is a guy who's going to be
very disciplined as president of the United States, about reaching out
to all points of view and admitting mistakes when he makes them."
