According to PETA, fashion designer Armani reneged on his pledge last fall to create a fur-free line of clothing. Worse, the group alleges, the rabbit fur used in the trendy jackets and toddlers' snowsuits sold at Armani Exchange is harvested under cruel conditions in China and France. To show their ire, the group has been showing up -- some sporting Pinocchio noses -- at Armani boutiques across the country.
Now, it's Kansas City's turn. The activists are planning a demonstration outside the Armani Exchange at 4700 Broadway at noon on Thursday.
"Wielding clubs and draped in animal skins donated by former fur wearers, PETA members will gather outside Giorgio Armani's Kansas City boutique to urge the designer to step out of the Stone Age and stop using fur in his fashions," a morning press release said. "The 'cavepeople' will hold signs that read, 'Armani--Stuck in the Stone Age' and hand out leaflets that graphically describe the cruelty of the fur industry."
There is one small bit of irony in this Stone Age demonstration, though. Kelsey Lewis, the manager of the Kansas City Armani boutique, says choosing the items in stock isn't up to her.
"We don't have any rabbit fur at our location," she says.

Wait - I thought Missouri women were so fat they have no need to wear fur or any other material.
If anyone actually viewed the documented evidence in film/photos/eyewitness testimony of the unthinkable cruelty and suffering inflicted upon writhing, screaming creatures being skinned for their fur, and didn't say NO to fur, then it is not difficult to see why the human species can so easily and happily wear the skins of helpless animals tortured and killed for their selfish vanity.
