Brownback in Operation Rescue's doghouse

Yesterday, I wondered what Operation Rescue thought of U.S. Sen. Sam Brownback congratulating Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius on her nomination as secretary of Health and Human Services. Looks like Brownback officially made the Wichita anti-abortion group's shit list.

Operation Rescue President Troy Newman sent out a typo-filled e-mail today. Here's an excerpt:

"It is unimaginable that a Catholic pro-lifer such as Sen. Brownback would support Sebelius' nomination to a post where she can advance her extremist abortion agenda on the national level. There is so much documentation of her ardent support of indicted late-term abortionist George Tiller that is (sic) hard to believe that the Senator from Kansas is simply ignorant of her record," said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman.

"We at Operation Rescue are urging our supporters to contact Sen. Brownback's office and ask for confirmation on this story," said Newman. "Our own calls to his office have been met with equivocation. We believe that the people have a right to know the truth on when (sic) the Senator stands."
It's not just the locals who are restless. American Life League President Judie Brown is really disappointed. She's so disappointed that she told LifeSiteNews, "I think we've just lost pro-life leadership in the U.S. Senate, and it's a tragedy. ... I'll never use 'pro-life' to describe him again. People have just lost their moral compass -- which means Obama's winning."

Forget about when he runs for governor in 2010. Brownback's already got some explaining to do.

As to OR's "typo-filled" e-mail, that is because OR's staff is working overtime right now without time off for the cause of life. Give 'em a break.
