NY Times runs grim map of America's struggling newspapers

This is just depressing. As we anxiously wait for the layoffs at The Kansas City Star -- but nowhere near as anxiously as those trapped in the mineshaft at 18th and Grand -- The New York Times ran this map yesterday showing the circulation troubles and plummeting ad revenues of newspapers across the country, including the Star. It was a sad follow up to Wednesday's story about the possibility of a major American city becoming newspaper-less.
