On February 6, Drell D. Fisher and Reginald L. Barnes, both 33, were found shot to death outside Gerry's Silver Slipper, a strip club at 4704 Independence Avenue. The untimely deaths of Fisher and Barnes attracted 237 comments (and counting) on this post.
Today, police say, the Jackson County Prosecutor's Office has issued a warrant for Deonta R. Taylor for murder in the first degree in connection with the crime.

I first want to say this is a sad situation for all my heart goes out to all involved im reading through all of this and it saddens me these two men can't rest in peace.My sons father was reginald the man who was killed while he was sleeping,my son is 17 and he is a straight A student with a goal and dream to become an NBA player and graduate with a basketball scholarship. Shooting suspect also wanted for murders committed in K.City

The Forrest City Police Department arrested a local man in connection with a mid-April shooting that sent the victim to the Med. The suspect is also wanted by the Kansas City Police Department for the first-degree murders of two men in February.
According to a press release from the FCPD, officers arrested Deonta Taylor, 32, 405 A Street, on Friday in connection with the Tuesday, April 21, shooting of Donald Anderson, 38, Forrest City.
Anderson was shot just after 2 a.m. as he walked along Rosser Street. Anderson was allegedly walking with a woman near A Street when a black Chevrolet Malibu stopped. While the woman was talking with the driver, a second man reportedly got out of the vehicle and approached Anderson, accusing him of breaking into his home.
Anderson received several gunshot wounds to the face, neck and arms. Anderson told police that the suspect, later identified as Taylor through a FCPD investigation, took $20 from him and then shot him in the face.
The press release states that Taylor also has murder and parole violation charges from Kansas City, Mo. According to the KSHB, a Kansas City television station, Taylor was named in March as a suspect in the deaths of two Kansas City men outside an area strip club. The two men, Drell Fisher, 22, Kansas City and Reginald Barnes, 22, Kansas City, were found in a vehicle at the club in the early hours of Feb. 6 of this year.
Locally, Taylor is charged with attempted capital murder, possession of a firearm by a certain person and aggravated assault. He faces two first-degree murder charges and a parole violation charge in Kansas City.
It was not known when Taylor will be transported back to Kansas City, but he was still in the SFC Jail this morning being held on a $500,000 bond. A call to SFC Deputy Prosecutor Chris Morledge for more details was not returned before press time.
