Killa City: KCMO homicide No. 32, Derrick L. Ashby

Kansas City Police found the body of a black man shot to death at 9th and Harrison at about 5 a.m.

The police say a person of interest was taken into custody at the scene. No names have been released, and the police are asking anyone with tips to call 816-474-8477.

Update (4:14 p.m., Wednesday, April 8): Kansas City Police say this morning's homicide victim is 19-year-old Derrick L. Ashby of Kansas City, Missouri. No suspects are in custody.
