Parking costs doubled in the Power & Light District last night for Nickelback

Snapped this photo on my walk home from work yesterday.

It's from a parking lot across the street from the AMC Mainstreet Theatre in the Power & Light District. People were actually forking over $20 to park in the lot last night, and the "special event" was Nickelback at the Sprint Center. How much does it usually cost to park in the lot? $10.

Anyone who wants to see Nickleback SHOULD have to pay extra to be downtown.

like we give a shit about the cost of parking in the p&l. the p&l is for the tourists and suburbadroids. that way we can keep an eye on them and their cash. god forbid one of those 2 demos go anywhere else and spend money. we at cordish have been working tirelessly at sucking them in while at the same time using our juice at city hall to try and get every bar and restaurant in k.c. not in the p&l shut down.

and don't let the cat out by informing them that they can park on the street for free. that would shut down our entire p&l parking racket.
