Killa City: Murder squad investigating body found in apartment

Posted by Justin Kendall on Thu, Apr 16, 2009 at 10:34 AM

Maybe I should have left the Killa City tag on this post. An earlier report indicated that the police didn't initially consider the death suspicious. Now, The Kansas City Star is reporting that murder squad detectives are looking into the death of a man found in an apartment at 8803 Millwood Drive.

The Star says:

Police did not release the cause of death and

have not counted the death as a homicide because the medical examiner

has yet to rule on it. But the Murder Squad typically does not

investigate cases that are not homicides.

Police have yet to release the victim's identity, but the Star says police have notified the family of the 37-year-old man who lived in

the apartment and told them that he was likely the victim.

The manager of the apartment complex found the man's body after residents smelled a foul odor. The manager hadn't seen the resident for two days.

And check out this comment from our initial post.

C Jackson says:

What do u mean the police is not classifying this as a homocide, the father of my son is dead sounds like a homocide to me
