Kansas City police released the names of two weekend homicide victims: 23-year-old Andrew J. Eli of Kansas City, Missouri, and 24-year-old Justin K. Budreau of Shawnee, Kansas.

Kansas City police officers on a routine patrol Saturday afternoon heard gunshots in the 1300 block of East 59th Street.

Witnesses told police that they also heard shots fired and saw several unidentified black men running from a house in the neighborhood. Inside the house, officers found Eli and Budreau. One was fatally wounded. The other was transported to a local hospital where he later died.

Police say no suspects are in custody.

Friends of Budreau and Eli have started a Facebook memorial page. The page says:
Two amazing young men were taken from us today.

Our hearts go out to their family and friends. They were wonderful guys

whose lives came to a tragic and abrupt end. They will always be loved

and never forgotten.

On his own Facebook page, Eli wrote in the "about me" section: "I plan to make some cool things happen in my life."

Jordan was one of my closest cousin's. I loved him very dearly and his death was a complete shock. He was a wonderful person, was kind to everyone and always had a smile on his face. He was amazing, and I miss him very much. I hope the guys who committed this horrible crime are found and dealt with accordingly. My feelings.... they have no right to live, but I'll let the courts and God make that decision. I love you Jordan I know your in a better place.

LOVE FOREVER,
