Kansas Lt. Gov. Mark Parkinson might want to start measuring the drapes in the governor's office.

Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius passed the first test on her road to becoming Health and Human Services secretary, getting a thumbs up from the Senate Finance Committee, which voted 15 to 8 in favor of sending her nomination to the Senate for a full vote. Montana U.S. Sen. Max Baucus said he'll "push for immediate action by the full Senate so that she can finally roll up her sleeves and get down to helping out on this critical work of reforming the health care system."

Of note, only two Republicans on the committee voted for Sebelius' nomination: Kansas U.S. Sen. Pat Roberts and Maine U.S. Sen. Olympia Snowe. Roberts ignored the cries from anti-abortion groups urging him to vote against Sebelius' confirmation.

Looks like Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's online minions failed to derail Sebelius. Cat fight!
