Hey, hey, it's the weekend. It's gonna be hot with a chance of storms -- and full of activities that will entertain you, expand your mind and help you kill off a few brain cells. Here's our quick picks:

Tonight:

The DUD-V-Hunt art show at the Emerald Space (1323 Union) features works by local artists Dan Crane, Christine Stormberg, Leslie Diuguid and Kyle Devine. An opening reception lasts from 6-10 p.m., followed by some performances. It's unclear exactly what the performances entail, but based on the above photo, this promises to be crazy cool.

The performance happening at the Just Off Broadway Theater is a little more clear cut. A production of Hair opens tonight, presented by the always edgy Minds Eye Theatre company. See mindseyetheatrekc.com for show times and ticket info.

Davey's Uptown will be packed with creeps and freaks tonight for a performance by the Kansas City New Orleans Sunken City Circus. The touring freak show includes people who are into being suspended by their nipples and a dude who'll let you staple money to him. The mayhem begins at 10 p.m. Tickets are $12.

Saturday:

The 21st annual AIDS Walk kicks off at 9 a.m. at Theis Park. Make a donation and march in the name of awareness and treatment for the thousands affected by HIV/AIDS in the metro.

Another kind of walk is happening from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Concourse at Kessler Park. During the Chalk Walk, kids and professional artists do some temporary designing on the sidewalk. Let's hope the sun comes out for this.

The Kansas City FilmFest continues through the weekend with independent movie screenings, including Last Breath, a supernatural thriller filmed in the metro. It screens at the new AMC Mainstreet at 3:30 p.m. See kcfilmfest.org for a complete schedule of movie times.
