Jackson County prosecutors charged Vincent R. Muzquiz with unlawful use of weapons (drive-by shootings) and armed criminal action today in connection with the death of Rebecca Amparan-Chacon.
The Jackson County Medical Examiner's Office ruled Chacon's death a homicide.

First of, my prayers are with the family and friends of Rebecca. My heart is with her children because i do know how sad it is to lose a loved one.

As for those that think they know what really happened in this situation, if you were'nt there to know what exactly went down than lets not run your mouths about the he said, she said crap. With all due respect Ms. Zuniga we aren't appearing in the best of light with the comments left on this blog by those from the westside. I too am a westsider but know that people do make us look bad to surrounding areas. We are not achieving anything by commenting on this blog. I say we all stop posting.
Mr Johnson County you don't know anything about our families from the Westside. It's ignorance of knowledge from people like you who give the Westside a bad name. Our families come from a long line of decendents who have lived in the area for well over 100 years. My grandparents, my parents, my whole family have all grown up on the Westside and here you call us low life, trashy and thugs, how dare you!
I come from a family of 12, my dad worked three yes three jobs to raise us. He was a butcher for Superior Meat and Sausage Co. during the week, a bartender on Friday nights and picked up trash on Saturday's for the city.
We also all have jobs and work hard to give our children a good education and life. So don't talk your trash like you know how we live and for any other family on the Westside for that matter.
My nephew Vincent wasn't raised by a drug selling family. To call us that is an insult to me, my brothers and sisters who have raised their children like any other family in America. He probably has more respect in his whole body than you have in your little pincky or if you have any at all for that matter.
No one knows what is going to happen when you walk out your front door everyday of your life. We can't monitor or children 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We can only try our best to bring them up the best way we know how. Everywhere young adults are getting into trouble without thinking of the consequences. And yes sadly my nephew is in that category but don't sit there and bash him when you don't even know him or our families.
I'm proud to call myself a Westsider.
I'm proud to say we have several college graduates in our family and some who are still in college and getting ready to graduate, as so do many families on the Westside.
I'm proud of my nephew who didn't run and try to hide but is there in jail till the truth comes out.
I'm proud that I am a Mexican no matter how many names you throw at us.

Ya actually i did go to jesse's once in a great while but got sick and tired of mike oroczo trying to sell me drugs and jesse the bartender likewise and then that bum philip well i we all know what he does....so ya i've been there done that and learned that jesse's is a whole in the wall bar with a bunch of low lifes that go there..

Is is because you never had it rough and you don't know what it is like to struggle in the hood? Is it because you were BORN into better circumstances and didn't have to struggle your way out of worse circumstances? You have no idea what it is like to try and make it out of the hood.
