Kansas City Star columnist Joe Posnanski previews his Sports Illustrated cover story on Royals pitcher Zack Greinke with a first look at the cover. Love the tease: "He's been a phenom and a bust. He's walked away and come back. He's been a starter and a reliever, a genius and a flake and he's only 25, right now ... The Best Pitcher in Baseball."
Cool cover. But it doesn't sound like Greinke is too excited about the cover, the first by a Royal since 1993.
"They'll probably sell their least amount of magazines in a long time -- except when NASCAR was on the cover," Greinke told the Star.
What are you trying to say about NASCAR fans, Zack?

Joe,
What's up with the text on the cover? Why are we still calling Zach a flake? Shouldn't we be thrilled that he has found his way to a level that not many MLB pitchers EVER get to? I know it's early, but you write for KC Star too, and I don't like the connotation that is sent about Zach. This guy needs to be embraced and let the past die. Who cares if the rest of the world knows about him? In fact, wouldn't it be a slight advantage to continue to not throw all the attention his way.
