After reading way too much into this field report on the official blog of Topkea's Westboro Baptist Church, several bloggers -- here, here and here -- wondered if the Phelps family should be placed on suicide watch, wondering if they were a glass of Kool Aid or a set of matching Nikes away from their eternal reward. Uh, no.
"I say first -- this is wishful thinking and standard slander," Shirley Phelps-Roper tells The Pitch in an e-mail. "It means nothing."
Phelps-Roper says Westboro has a packed schedule of upcoming pickets, and besides, she writes, "WHY NOW would anyone think that we would do anything as disobedient and lawless as murder?"
The field report is the same ol' preaching that Westboro has always dished out to "doomed America." And those telling them to "get the f#@& out," Phelps-Roper says, "We will get out, and that day will come EXACTLY when the Lord our God has fixed for us to get out."
In short, they're not going anywhere.

Well (Tick-Tock) Shirley. Hell I'll spring for the kool-aid and the poison. Just give me the time and place to be. people like this that spew hate is what's degrading the country. You're Lords calling you Shirley... answer the phone... PLEASE!
If the Phelp's want to off themselves, I only pray they don't take the children with them. They do not understand any of this and it't not their fault. Shirl will be going to hell if she follows her own belief's. She had a bastard child (Sam) then allowed a divorced man to adopt him. Having a child out of wedlock and marrying a divorced man are what gets you into hell, according to her. Please check the web soon, as her daughter's will be causing her alot of shame when the "photo's" get put on the web.
Too late, Shirley. They're coming to rescue the kids before you decide what flavor of KoolAid to use.
