Jon Stewart, say hello to some friends of ours.

Kansas state Reps. Barbara Ballard, Gail Finney, Broderick Henderson, Melody McCray-Miller and Valdenia Winn. And that's just in the House. Then there's state Sens. Oletha Faust-Goudeau and David Haley. And don't get us started on the Jews.

Kansas: Not as lily-white (and Christian, maybe) as you think!

The careful observer will note that all the names Justin mentioned are Democrats. Plus all but one are either from Kansas City or Wichita - the closest things to big cities you'll find in Kansas. The lone exception is from Lawrence, the Berkeley of the Midwest.

Show me a black rep or senator from Russell, Colby, Atchison, or even (ahem) Liberal and I'll be impressed.
