This year's Flights of Fancy was a big deal, with 8,000 people defying morning rain to put their creations in the air. The Pitch's calendar section noted the event beforehand but incorrectly reported that it was put on by the Kansas City Kite Club. In fact, as you can tell by the photo, Metropolitan Community College-Longview made the kites fly, with the participation of the kite club and help from corporate sponsors. We look forward to getting it right next year for the fourth-annual Flights of Fancy, which is already in the planning stages.
