Mo. Gov. Nixon's security kicks out Liberty Restoration Project. Did they get what they deserved?

Posted by Justin Kendall on Thu, May 7, 2009 at 3:34 PM

Here's the video of the Liberty Restoration Project getting bounced from Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon's office. The "end the Fed" crowd wanted a meeting with the governor to talk about the Missouri Information Analysis Center report on the "The Modern Militia Movement," which listed Ron Paul supporters and those who oppose abortion, the federal income tax and illegal immigration as potential threats to homeland security. Instead, they met Capitol security, who showed them the door.

The woman on the video is Liberty Restoration Project executive director Catherine Bleish. She comes off really bratty. I know she really wants answers and this is her fourth drop-in on the guv (even though the Missouri Department of Public Safety has already fallen on the sword for the report), but I doubt he's feeling the camera crew. And damn, Bleish is whiny.

Anybody got a feeling on this?

Not a retard, but, really, why is Bleisch's demeanor relevant? Why end the post with a comment on her whininess? Calling angry women "whiny" or "shrill" or "hysterical" is a tired, transparent way of diminishing them without really addressing their actions. Maybe we can also find fault with Bleisch's make up? The style of her eye-glasses? Most women--or men, for that matter--surrounded by five officials in suits, with weapons, will show some signs of strain in voice and behavior. One could as easily say that the "head of security" comes off as a pompous, robotic ass; he sounds like an SNL skit on democracy in the age of idiocy. The real question, it seems to me, is why the public servants are so quick to treat the public they serve as an enemy. The governor seems to forget his place.

They should have hit her with the pepper spray, or at least put her in a choke hold.
I'll refrain from calling you a retard. Vigilant wolfbane, or whoever, already beat me to it.

"When I stop and think about how most of these people would react to the same thing happening to a bunch of anti-war hippies, it's tough to have much sympathy for them."

When I stop and think about how most of these people would react to the same thing happening to a bunch of anti-war hippies, it's tough to have much sympathy for them.

But I'd like to welcome them to the wonderful world of protesting. It doesn't really get any better, so you'd best get used to it.

Bratty? Whiny?!?! You delusional retard. She was classified as a terrorist threat by Homeland Security...and you have the fucking balls to call her whiny.

Remember that poem "first they came for..."?

Lets break this down nice and simple for you: international banks have hijacked the country. The police-state set up in post-9/11 world is here to enforce the coup. We can either choose freedom, or tyranny.

I would just like to add a few things..

1. Several attempts were also made over the telephone to schedule a meeting, for almost 2 months they take down our info and never call

2. It took 3 times for us to submit the Sunshine Law request before the governor's office responded...and the first response came after the required by law 72 hour limit from the third submission. They claimed we addressed the hand delivered first one incorrectly, then claimed they didn't receive the second over fax

3. If you follow through the youtube user account, you will see a video from moments before, someone on the governor's staff again asking our grievances without committing to issuing answers, refusing to even give his job title.

In the end, all we were asking for is a confirmation that some day we could get answers from the Governor's office regarding questions we have about inconsistencies in his responses to this issue. After several attempts, this is the only response we get, slammed doors. Even legislators have communicated problems trying to speak with the governor. Who does get face time with Jay Nixon? I would think that Missouri deserves better communication from its elected officials.
