Fox 4 is old enough for AARP but not old enough for retirement. The station's 60th anniversary site is really cool. There's old photos and video, including the newscast the day after the 1981 Hyatt skywalk collapse.

Stop by the site. It's cheaper than buying a birthday card.

Obviously Realist doesn't know anything about TV. WDAF indeed has been in existence for 60 yrs, hence the call letters beginning with "W". It began operation on Oct. 16, 1949 as the 2nd TV station in Missouri and the first in KC. Also, Fox did not "buy" WDAF in 1993. The station is owned by Local TV LLC. I think Realist is very slow on the uptake! Might want to check out

before posting blogs that are incorrect.

Heh. This is typical of the sort of misinformation/propaganda you get from Fox.

The WDAF Channel 4 that started sixty years ago was an NBC affiliate. (and was originally owned by the Kansas City Star) Fox as a network didn't even exist until 1986, so there's no way that 1981 footage was from Fox. Fox bought WDAF in 1993, so all this "sixty-year anniversary" bullshit is pretty funny.

Once more for people who are slow on the uptake: it's not possible for Fox to be having a sixty-year anniversary when THEY HAVEN'T EXISTED FOR SIXTY YEARS.
