Kansas City's latest newsie alleged to be driving drunk is of the live, late breaking, investigative variety. KCTV Channel 5 reporter Betsy Webster allegedly crashed her car into the back of a Lincoln Town Car on West 39th Street around 2:40 a.m. Friday, The Kansas City Star reported today. The driver of the Town Car suffered minor injuries and so did a guy standing next the car. The Star says a police officer detected a "strong" odor of alcohol on the 38-year-old reporter, "who failed several field sobriety tests and refused to take a breath test." Webster's arrest follows January's arrest of Rhonda Chriss Lokeman, a former Star columnist and wife of publisher Mark Zieman, and the December 2006 arrest of then-Fox 4 reporter Steve Shaw, who's apparently doing much better now.
