Kansas man doesn't want to pay $275 fine for kicking gull's ass

No one steals ice cream from Dragan Djuric's wife. Not without receiving a severe beat down, which one really unlucky gull found out on New Year's Eve in Laguna Beach.

Djuric and his wife were enjoying frozen treats when a greedy gull swooped in and stole his wife's ice cream. Being a man of action, Djuric grabbed a stick and started swinging, breaking one of the gull's wings. Except Djuric messed with the wrong kind of gull. This was a rare species, which did not please the ice cream stealing rare bird enablers at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. They fined Djuric $275, overlooking Djuric's claims of self-defense.

Now, Djuric is appealing the fine, a brilliant move sure to keep his man-against-nature fight in news of the weird sections in papers across the country. Take that, gulls.

F that bird. If a perfect stranger rushed you and stole a cheeseburger from you, you'd be well within your right to beat that person down. It was obviously a heartless move on his part but a very natural reaction none the less. The bird started it and Djuric finished it. I'll bet the bird doesn't steal his ice cream again.

Call me cruel, but like opossums and raccoons, pigeons and gulls are filthy, disease spreading nuisances that eat trash and are a potential threat to public safety. I might not have tried to beat down the bird, but I would have fed him a big handful of Alka-Seltzer.

Even if the bird swooped down to his arm and took the ice-cream from his hand, that doesn't justify beating it with a stick. That's like kicking a dog for barking or throwing a cat for meowing. This guy deserves the fine.

I think Mr Djuric is nothing more than a pathetic and cruel bully who has nothing better to do than injure a harmless bird! I hope the US legal system "hits" him with every applicable law in the book, makes him pay a hefty financial penalty and force Mr Djuric to do community work, preferably with avian wildlife!! He sounds like a creep and a jerk!

From the "appealing the fine" link in the story:

Fish and Wildlife officials say witnesses told authorities the ice cream fell on its own and Djuric struck birds that descended to eat it.

If this is true, I have considerably less sympathy for his "self-defense" excuse.

Fuck-a-duck...

Was anybody going to give him a refund for his Ice cream?

Was anyone gonna help wipe the bird shit off of his head once the bird came back hours latter after eating the ice cream?

RARE my ass..If they're rare then put them into captivity by making them live with those PETA weirdos!
