A 22-year-old man was mortally wounded by gunfire around 8:20 p.m. Tuesday. Kansas City police found the man -- his name has yet to be released -- suffering from gunshot wounds at 11th and Belmont.
The shooting victim was taken to a hospital where he died from his injuries.
Witnesses saw a red vehicle fleeing the scene following the shooting. Police say they may have located a possible suspect -- suffering non-life-threatening gunshot wounds -- at another hospital. Officers are watching over the man at the hospital.
