The crown of best air guitarist in Kansas City is on the line tonight at the Record Bar, and you know you want it. How could you not after seeing C. Diddy and Bjorn Tuoque rock their imaginary axes in the strange but charming documentary Air Guitar Nation?

Tonight the dreamers get their shot in the U.S. Air Guitar Championships' Kansas City regional. The best air-ax player gets a paid trip to the U.S. Finals on August 7

at a yet-to-be-disclosed location.

We know of at least one competitor. Scene Stealers' Eric "Mean" Melin has vowed to wow.

The 18-and-over showdown starts at 10 p.m. Tickets cost $12, unless you want to compete. It's not too late to sign up to compete. The ticket to rock costs $20, and you gotta be 21 or older.
