Studies in Carp

Posted by CJ Janovy on Wed, Jun 17, 2009 at 7:30 AM

It's been awhile since we've expressed our appreciation for the city of Roeland Park's Art in R Park, which rotates art in and out of parks every six months (we still miss the sculpture we affectionately dubbed "Roe Man").

But after a few days of extra-heavy rain, Steve O'Hora's Basszilla (on the northwest corner of Roe and Johnson Drive) started to look like something that might actually happen.

The last time I made a disparaging quip on a blog about the Roeland Park public art I was soundly beaten down by throngs of defensive commenters. So I will just say that this bit of sculpture is truly carptacular and leave it at that.
