All of this is more proof that you dont want govt. involved in private business and real estate development. And Threatt is a moron and a criminal and should be locked up for years.

So . . . having done some financial boondoggles, we are obligated to do more? Rather than learn from the mistakes, we should continue them in the name of racial equality?

That is absurd.

At least this project, unlike most of KC's TIF projects, is in an area that legitimately qualifies as blighted.

The twenty mill is a drop in the bucket compared to what they spent flushing money down the toilet at the Power & Light District. Too bad all these watchdogs weren't barking a little louder when that particular "financial boondoggle" went down, huh?

It's amazing how all these calls for frugality, fiscal responsibility, and belt-tightening only arise when the money's going to help minorities.

If the Council Titans approve this economic version of flushing money down the toilet, each and every one of them who votes for this should step down when the project goes into default and the City gets stuck the bill for this financial boondoggle. Every single one of them!!!!

I find it absolutely amazing how this council can keep finding money in these supposedly tight budget times for projects of dubious, at best, chances of success. This is obviously the Houdini council as they continually pull money out of an empty hat.
