According to a Craigslist Missed Connections post, two bikes on I-35 fell in love. But love at 55 miles per hour can't last, can it? (Lots of [sic] in the following.)
Today my big green bike seems to have fallen in love with your littlered bike. I know, I was as surprised as anyone to learn that my bike is
lesbian. But, it seems that she likes smaller, well built bikes and it
was all I could do keep her from looking overly eager. (I hear that is
bad.) We were headed to work on I-35 South, when you caught up to us
and passed on the inside. Thinking back on it, your bike may have been
flirting with mine the way she signaled like that and then cut back
into the outside lane just one car ahead of us.
Imagine my surprise when my bike gunned it out and around that caronly to slide in behind the two of you. Not that I minded though,
'cause I could see why she wanted to be back there looking at your
curves....I mean at your bike's curves. It was difficult to hold her back
as she has A LOT of power and just wanted to blast up next to you, but
I had to remind her it was rude to just invade a stranger's space.
Unfortunately, she did let out a few frustrated, loud, rumblinggrowls as she downshifted because traffic was all around us and we
could not pull alongside to express our undying love...uhm...to say 'Hi'. I
compliment how smoothly your bike moved and responded as your finely
denimed legs guided her through traffic. (.....ahem)
I really hope you won't hold my appearance against my bike. I knowPlease, green and red bikes, if you do reconnect, buzz by 1701 Main so we can see the lovely couple!I tend to look like a geek with my dress khakis and button up shirt,
but I was going to work. (Your aerodynamic white shirt was a good
choice though as it let the wind flow smoothly around your body.) Just
'cause you have a black helmet and I a white one...doesn't mean we should
keep our bikes apart. We all had to part ways in the shadows of Bartle
Hall as you went West and I South. However, our bikes should get to
ride together again and I hope you will find it in your heart to let us
know the next time the two of you will be out.
