Rep. Paul LeVota is the Minority Leader for the Missouri House. His brother, lawyer Phil, apparently aspires to be Kansas City's Dave Coulier. Phil and co-host Jennifer Plas (who, according to her Web site, was Topeka's Holly Starr back when Starr was in diapers) are launching The Power of KC, a Saturday morning show that is expected to debut July 25 on Fox 4 at 6:30 a.m.
According to the site, Phil and Jennifer will be taking their witty banter from the Crossroads District to the Legends, visiting all that Kansas City has to offer.
And that's not all! The pitch for prospective advertisers in the "About" section pegs the show's demographics at a healthy 25-54 age spread, and notes that it leads into Fox 4's "highly rated" Saturday morning news show at 7:00 a.m.
The pilot, part of which can be viewed above, has those two wacky kids Phil and Jennifer visiting the River Market, Union Station and Fleming Park. We look forward to watching them discover the wildlife on Independence Avenue and the joy of KC's outdoor Laundromats in future episodes.
P.S.: Similarities?
Showing 1-3 of 3
Nice idea for KC to showcase some attractions. We could use the positive spin. pride, and entertainment, but why do you mention Paul LeVota in the story? He isn't in the show. Is he?
I realize pride and confidence are something the city desperately needs - especially with new that OMAHA is about to pass us in population - but at what point is this just flat out corny. You can find what they're doing on Channel 2.
And a demographic of 25-54? They joking? Perhaps they're going for a business-savvy demo? I dunno, that range is just hilarious!
I vote for Nadia having her own show.
