OK, I'm not sure how the Mile High Lounge can be in a basement, but a joint called the Mile High Lounge is opening Saturday night at 11 in the bottom of Mint (334 E. 31st St.) at Martini Corner.
Here's the details from some guy calling himself the "Captain":
The Lounge has been completely re-designed for your comfort circa 1972TWA style. The flight crew has nothing but your relaxation and care in
mind. When you need a break from your in flight dancing upstairs at
Mint, you can step downstairs for a bit and chill.
The Captain will be buying some complimentary cocktails for everyone
with a boarding pass -- although you'll have to pour your little bottle
yourself -- FAA regulations!
Don't forget your boarding pass.
