A man found shot to death in the intersection of 59th and Indiana early Tuesday morning was facing trial on murder charges.

The Star reports today that 20-year-old Dominique Nelson was out on bond and scheduled to go on trial this week (although it got delayed) for second-degree murder in the 2007 death of 17-year-old Joe M. Theus.

The Star says:

Court records allege Nelson was driving a car when his front-seat

passenger recognized someone in another vehicle carrying five people.

The passenger leaned out the window and fired six to seven shots at the

vehicle. A bullet struck Theus in the head and a second victim in the

buttocks.

Kansas City police still haven't released any suspect info regarding Nelson's killing. Tipsters should call 816-474-8477.
