World Outside Our Window

We see some odd stuff through the floor-to-ceiling windows of The Pitch office. But today at about 3:45 p.m., we saw the world roll by. It was tethered to a man named Erik Bendl, who was tethered to a big, tan dog. The dog, Nice, wore boots, and seemed unenthusiastic about hoofing it down Main Street in the heat of the day. Nice dropped to the ground while I visited with Bendl, who said the long walk they've been on is almost over.

Months ago, they began their trek in their hometown of Louisville, Kentucky. They're walking to raise awareness and money for the American Diabetes Association. The first phase of this endeavor will end when they get to KCK today. Then, they'll drive to Colorado and walk up Pike's Peak. Bendl blogs almost every day. He also has a cause page, through which you can make a donation, on Facebook.

Creating a Mosque at Ground Zero has to be the stupidest plan within the history of humanity, I very seriously think that it's maliciously calculated, at best, to insight conflict. I'm not really a conspiracy theorist just this is either shameful or noxious, plausibly both of those. wilma
