Last we heard from Jeffrey S. Sauerbry, he was telling then-Pitch reporter Kendrick Blackwood to stay off his property. That was four years ago. Blackwood was working on a story about the disappearance of Summer Shipp and there were a lot of fingers pointing at Sauerbry.

Yesterday, a grand jury indicted Sauerbry, 36, for murder in the stabbing death of William Kellett on July 4, 1998. Kellett's body was found in a trailer on the site of a now-closed car dealership. The indictment isn't connected to Shipp's disappearance and murder (her remains were found on the banks of the Little Blue River in October 2007).

Neighbors last saw Shipp going to the house where Sauerbry lived with his mother in Independence. Shipp was conducting door-to-door surveys in the neighborhood, and her car was later found parked in the neighborhood.
