This is the worst thought out robbery that I have ever heard of. Imagine the pitch: OK, ladies, you're going to give these guys blowjobs to distract these two guys. Then we'll come up from behind and rob these guys -- or shoot them (while you're blowing them) and then rob them. Then we'll take the money and drugs and run.
That's the story alleged in court records about a shooting early Wednesday morning at 2713 Cleveland. Police found two men shot several times in an alley. One of the victims told police that he and another man had met a couple of women in Westport and followed them to an alley on Cleveland with the promise of oral sex. The man said "he was receiving oral sex from one of the females when" Anthony B. Williams, 26, and Larry J. Shores, 26, entered the alley and began shooting him and another man, the probable cause statement says.
Police had already stopped a Ford Taurus with two white women, Krystal M. Myers and Dawn R. Clark, and Anthony B. Williams in the backseat.
Myers, 20, and Clark, 38, told detectives that they planned to rob the men with the help of Williams and Shores. The women said they "offered the victims oral sex in exchange for money and narcotics." The women said Williams and Shores were supposed to "sneak up and rob the victims at gun point while they were being distracted by the sexual activity" -- but Williams and Shores showed up in "the alley and began shooting both victims."
Why go through with the blowjobs? Was that even necessary?
Williams admitted being in Westport with the women but denied ever leaving the car or being involved in the shooting.
Jackson County prosecutors charged Williams and Shores today with two
counts of first-degree assault, two counts of armed criminal action and
two counts of first-degree attempted robbery.
Prosecutors also charged Myers with two counts of first-degree robbery. No word on charges against Clark.
Update (4:24 p.m. Thursday, July 30): Clark was also charged with two counts of first-degree robbery.
