14 local post offices on the chopping block

Your grandma isn't going to be happy. The Postal Service has marked 14 local post offices (among 677 nationwide) for consolidation or closure. KMBC Channel 9 says they are:

  1. Fairfax, 3210 Fiberglass Rd., in KCK
  2. Indian Springs, 4953 State Ave., in KCK
  3. Packer, 628 Kansas Ave., in KCK
  4. Boardwalk, 6304 N.W. Barry Rd. in KCMO
  5. Center Square, 1100 Main St., in KCMO
  6. Centropolis, 5824 E. Truman, in KCMO
  7. Civic Center, 601 E. 12th St., in KCMO
  8. Metro Mall, 400 N.W. Barry Rd., in KCMO
  9. Northeast, 105 N. Hardesty Ave., in KCMO
  10. Southeast, 7640 Prospect Ave., in KCMO
  11. William Chick, 2657 Independence Ave., in KCMO
  12. Mission, 5419 Johnson Dr., in Mission, Kansas
  13. Overland Park branch, 8110 Conser, in Mission, Kansas
  14. Shawnee branch, 6201 Nieman, in Mission, Kansas
This probably won't affect you much since you know how to use a computer. Here's the full list.

I tried to support post office as much as I could by using postcrossing and netflix. Maybe they should consider changing hours to NOT coincide with 9-5 workday.
