Antwan S. Wooden is the man who shot and killed James Ragsdale on July 18, Jackson County prosecutors allege.

Prosecutors charged Wooden Wednesday with second-degree murder, three counts of armed criminal action and two counts of first-degree assault.

Ragsdale, 30, is the grandson of Kansas City School board member, Helen Ragsdale.

Court documents give this account: A car containing Ragsdale and other men pulled into a driveway in the 4300 block of Flora around 3:05 a.m. when another vehicle pulled in behind them. Then, witnesses say, Wooden and another unknown man walked up the driveway firing into the car that Ragsdale was in. Two other men were shot but their injuries were not life threatening.

In the initial police report, one victim told police that "This all started at Club Zen."

Police arrested Wooden on July 27, and he declined to talk to police without his lawyer.

In July, prosecutors charged Wooden with first-degree assault,

armed criminal action and firing a weapon from a moving vehicle for allegedly shooting a man driving on 71 Highway. A Pizza Hut receipt snitched on Wooden.
