Here comes a group groan. Joe the Plumber is coming to Kansas City on September 16 to promote a deeply unfunny book of comic strips called Microman USA. No word on where Joe will be, but we'll let you know when we find out.
Joe the Plumber (real name: Joe Wurzelbacher) didn't write or draw the strip (those honors go to Robert Stern and Mark Hill). Joe is listed as introducing Microman.
"Microman will make you laugh and feel good about fighting for the principles that our founding fathers envisioned," Joe says in the press release.
Laughing? Feel good? Ready to fight for those principles? Me neither. But here are more Microman strips for your enjoyment(?) here.
Update (3:17 p.m. Wednesday, August 26): We're told Joe the Plumber is part of the American Liberty Tour and will join a tea party at Pierson Auditorium (5100 Rockhill Road).

I have read Microman...and I think the comics (and the book), are brilliant. Of course, if you make fun of Nancy Pelosi, the liberals like Justin are not going to like it. Political cartoons are that way -- half the country will love or hate each one -- regardless of which side they cover.
You guys are the last ones with any room to gripe about crappy cartoons. That Fox kid is okay and definitely has potential, but he's sure no Tom Tomorrow or Derf.
I think that cartoon has killed all other cartoons for me forever and ever, the end.
Let's all show up to Joe's appearance with annoying homemade signs so we can shout him down. I'm half-serious here.
wow, thanks a lot for sending me to that link. Really brightens my day. Do you think they'll get a bailout when no one buys that crap?
Why are people who have never read past the big letters on their high school civics teacher's Constitution poster always so knowledgable about what the founding fathers envisioned?
