Lynn Jenkins' search for a 'great white hope': Day 9

Posted by on Fri, Aug 28, 2009 at 9:47 AM

Kansas Congresswoman Lynn "Where the white folks at?" Jenkins gave

MSNBC's hyperbolic liberal Keith Olbermann ammunition with her 1900s-era call for a "great white hope" to defeat African-American World Heavyweight Champion Jack Johnson. Oh, wait, she was talking about President Barack Obama -- a century later.

Anyway, Olbermann wasn't satisfied with Jenkins' apology. Let it rip, Keith.

Jenkins was having a rough go of it yesterday. KMBC Channel 9's Micheal Mahoney writes on his blog that Jenkins blew off reporters at a town hall meeting in Ottawa, Kansas. But realizing the "video of her walking brusquely by and not explaining what she said" would prolong the story, she came back for a "stop and pop." Thankfully, Jenkins didn't say she has "black friends."
