Rightbloggers, Sarah Palin celebrate failure of Obama Hitler health-care speech

Roy Edroso is unwell. So this week's Rightbloggers: Exploring the right Wing Blogosphere is a recent hit (and as always, appears courtesy of our sister paper in New York City, Village Voice).

Congressman Joe Wilson's cry of "Lie!" at President Obama's health-care speech had not stopped reverberating in the halls of Congress before rightbloggers declared it a failure.

Scared Monkeys

refutes Obama's claim that preventative care would save money.

"Preventative medicine saves lives, it does not save money," they say.

"In fact it cost more money. Preventative care means that you have to

test and pay for all people, even one's who never end up developing any

type of disease." Thus we spend more money and save lives -- two things

conservatives adamantly oppose.

QandO finds

failure in presumed success with Obama's public option. "If the public

option does not have the same 'overhead' going towards 'profits,

excessive administrative costs and executive salaries,'" they reason,

"then won't it be passing those saving on to consumers? And if so,

won't that price the private plans out of the market? After all, why

would anyone choose to pay more for coverage if they don't have to?"

This dangerously efficient system must be stopped, or insurance

companies will be more likely to perish than patients.

"There he was, looking left and right, left and right, left and right, at his teleprompters," claimed Freedom Eden.

"He's a bad actor. He's unconvincing as a president." "A childish

man-child that's a whiny-ass baby that's thinks everything has to be

his way or no way," says Angry White Guy.

"He gave a big call-out Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, and Governor Sarah Palin for standing up against the bill," says Amorian,

perhaps having viewed a poorly-subtitled version of the speech. "Having

a common social enemy may have worked in Nazi Germany, Barack Obama,

but it will not work in the USA. "

"I can't believe anyone is watching," says Ann Althouse.

"I'm irritated as hell by the standing ovations. I can't believe anyone

is watching." Althouse is a Professor at the University of Wisconsin

Law School.

"Finally, he dragged the body of Senator Edward Kennedy out of

his fresh grave and used him again as a prop to push his partisan

vision," says Flopping Aces.

"Never let a dead Senator go to waste," says Chicks on the Right (also: "Michelle Obama's Pepto-Bismol-BOW-inspired outfit was heinous").

One thing they did like was Congressman Wilson's heckling. "The South

Carolina Republican was courageous enough to call President Barack

Obama a liar on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives,"

applauds Bob McCarty.

"WATCH PELOSI'S FACE WHEN JOE YELLS OUT... PRICELESS!!!" says Annuit Coeptis,

and chides John McCain for disagreeing: "GO HOME JOHN McCAIN!!! THIS

SISSIFIED ATTITUDE IS ONE OF THE MAIN REASONS WHY McCAN'T COULDN'T."

"Nancy Pelosi now dispatching a hit-team to take out Joe Wilson,"

claims Weasel Zippers.

"That's nothing," shrugs Serr8d, "I was calling him a liar throughout the speech." And Ann Althouse

says Obama started it by saying the claim that he wanted to kill old

people was a lie -- thus the President was "guilty of disrespecting his

critics," and deserved to be heckled. "I suppose that Obama supporters

are using it to try to paint all the critics of the proposed

legislation as louts to be dismissed out of hand," she adds. (Why would

they bother?)

Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin

responds on her Facebook page: "Finally, President Obama delivered an

offhand applause line tonight about the cost of the War on Terror. As

we approach the anniversary of the September 11th attacks and honor

those who died that day and those who have died since in the War on

Terror, in order to secure our freedoms, we need to remember their

sacrifices and not demonize them as having had too high a price tag."

That's why we have links, folks -- to show that we're not just makin'

stuff up.

More people need to stand up like Joe Wilson did. In O'Fallon, Mo., some 200 more courageous people did just that (i.e., they lined a busy street corner yesterday to protest Socialism and ObamaCare). Best of all, they've been doing it every weekend for about a year. Click on my name above to read the post and watch a video about it.

I sent Joe Wilson $30. I have never sent money to a politician before, but the man had the guts to call the socialist what he is. Obama is a liar and I don't trust him.
